On October 7, 2025, Prof. Pongruk Sribanditmongkol. M.D., Ph.D., President of Chiang Mai University (CMU), one of our partner universities from Thailand, paid a courtesy visit to President Yoshimoto. They exchanged views along with Trustee/Vice President Horiuchi, Vice President Kamei, Prof. Takagi from the Faculty of Design and Architecture and Assoc.Prof. Siriaraya from the Faculty of Information and Human Sciences.
KIT signed an agreement for academic exchange and memorandum of student exchange with Chiang Mai University in 2005, marking the 20th anniversary of the agreement this year. Coinciding with the visit of President Prof. Sribanditmongkol, the agreement was renewed for the fourth time, and a signing ceremony was held by both presidents.
In addition to establishing a joint degree program in architecture, we have actively engaged in joint research and student exchanges with the faculties of medicine and science. During this visit, both parties agreed to continue advancing cooperation in architecture while expanding the scope of exchange to semiconductors, medicine, and information technology.
